They’re a source of ‘thinspiration’ to people afflicted with eating disorders, and include pictures of super-skinny celebrities as well as hints and tips for losing weight fast.They also provide online support groups for anorexics, some of whom post their experiences and compete with each other over who can loose the most weight.Sitting here with a full tummy in TV Towers, they seem, frankly, frightening.Fearne Cotton examines the ongoing trend of pro-ana websites and tries out some of the extreme diet and fitness regimes they propose. She also meets a mother who lost her teenage daughter to anorexia, a survivor, a representative of the mental health charity SANE and a woman who runs a pro-ana site.Fearne says: It's been a surreal journey and I have learnt a lot. I hope it shows girls and women out there that they can get help if they need it."I really want people to see how damaging and terrifying pro anorexic websites are. I was so shocked and I'm sure most will be too."
