It chronicles the construction of the submersible and Cameron's solo dive to the depths of the Mariana Trench which is nearly seven miles beneath the ocean's surface by piloting a submersible he designed himself.On March 26, 2012, Cameron reached the bottom of the Challenger Deep, the deepest part of the Mariana Trench.
