Using interviews, news footage, testimony before Congress, and infrared photographic analysis, the film relentlessly chips away at the government's story that David Koresh was Jim Jones and his followers were apocalyptic nutters who were preparing to slaughter their neighbours with a massive stockpile of illegal weapons. According to the government, the Davidians believed their destiny was to die in an apocalyptic battle with the agents of Babylon, and so they set themselves on fire. And that it was the selfless atf/fbi heroes that served their countrymen by fearlessly confronting the homocidal group. The media of the time played along, abdicating its responsibilities as watchdog and guardian of the public's interests, going so far as to mock the Davidian's plea for the press to cover their story.The lies, cover-ups, missing evidence, un-used evidence (the flir, infra-red footage), media complicity, and psychopathic disregard for the lives of children have never been addressed by the mainstream media and no one has been held accountable for the tragedy.This is an unforgettable movie experience.
